Justin Bieber Decorates His Torso With Massive Tattoo – PHOTO
Is Justin Bieber trying to come for Drake’s ‘bizarre tattoo’ crown?
Posting on his Instagram, Bieber revealed the massive new torso tattoos which include gargyoles, skeletons, archways, a gothic cross, and more. Following this latest exhibition, the singer now wears 60 more ink jobs on his body.
The photo quickly stirred reactions; many of his fans didn’t like it, and some even went as far as declaring that they no longer belong in his fan base.
But the singer’s tattoo artist, Big Bang, has stepped up to explain the idea behind the ink job.
Speaking with E! News, the artist said it took three days in Beverly Hills to create this torso work, adding that it is a symbolic work–of the struggle between good and evil.
“We added two angels, one on each side,” he said. “Below each one, they’re dominating the evil. Whenever I do an epic piece, there needs to be the positive and negative. There needs to be a balance…visually there needs to be contrast. Below each of the angels, there is a demon that needs to be defeated. The skeleton on one side and the serpent on the other.”He continued, saying, “It’s symbolic of Gothic art and the struggle between the light and dark, the good and the evil, Yin and Yang.”I wanted to make sure we had contrast in subject matter and imagery. The thing that made the most sense to me was a tattoo describing his spirituality. The animals he has, his spirit animals as well as the angels, his guardians. I was trying to make it super meaningful and not scattered.”
And revealing when the idea of the tattoo job came, he said Bieber wanted to modify a pre-existing ink work, and so he, Big Bang, gave him options to choose from. And that was how this magnificent work came about.
“We talked about growing up,” he added. “We talked about people and their perceptions. How changes in life and people all come like seasons. We also talked about just figuring it out. I’ve known Justin for a long time and I’ve got to see this talented world famous iconic young man grow up. And same for me. When he met me, I was younger and we were in different spots in life. And it’s cool to see how we’ve grown.”
Well many people are repulsed by the ink job. Maybe it will soon grow on them?
